What We Do
Hillel of Greater MetroWest NJ (Hillel GMW) aims to create a strong, welcoming and inclusive Jewish community on campus, to facilitate meaningful experiences for students, to foster Jewish education and awareness, and to help develop and grow students’ Jewish identities and their relationship with the world. Hillel GMW is funded by the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest. It includes the following campuses:
Montclair State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Seton Hall University, Fairleigh Dickinson University (Florham), Kean University, and Rutgers University (Newark)
Each campus has their own operating student executive board, and maintains their own individual programming and events, in addition to multi-campus events that Hillel GMW hosts. Hillel offers students resources and opportunities for learning, travel opportunities including Birthright Israel and Alternative Break, regular Shabbat services and dinners, social and educational programming and events, connects students to local synagogues and job opportunities, and more!
